Interview done by Andrew Scheuffele
Andrew interviewed Jonathan Moore, a Site Pastor in training at Resonate Church. He is also a small group leader and a spiritual mentor for many men in the church. Andrew received his views on the treatment of mental health, as well as how to achieve good mental health.
1.) Do you think mental health is getting the attention and care it deserves in today's society?
"We are moving towards a place where mental health is becoming less stigmatized, however, the amount of available resources to help care and improve mental health have struggled to keep up with the increase in needed support."
2.) How do we promote good mental health?
"We need to continue to encourage all people with poor mental health is not uncommon and that seeking care and assistance should always be chosen over keeping it hidden. In the dark, is where poor mental health thrives, and we must always seek to bring it into the light to heal."
3.) Who is disproportionally at risk for poor mental health?
"People who isolate themselves are always going to be at risk of having poor mental health. It is easy to believe there is no hope for health when dark thoughts haunt your mind and you lack a community around you who can remind you of the truth."
